Following the successful State of Australian Cities conferences held in 2003 and 2005, the Advisory Board of the Australian Sustainable Cities and Regions Network has announced that it will convene the third State of Australian Cities Conference in Adelaide from 28 to 30 November 2007. The 2007 conference is being co-organised by the University of South Australia , University of Adelaide and Flinders University .

Summer School for RHD Students

The Australian Research Council Research Network in Spatially Integrated Social Science (ARCRNSISS) will be holding the Summer School for Research Higher Degree Students in Spatially Integrated Social Science Theory and Methods February 11th – 21st, 2007, at the University of Queensland in Brisbane Queensland. The 10 day residential School will be hosted throughout the country each year at participating universities of the ARCRNSISS. The Summer School will bring together approximately 30 domestic and international RHD Students each year to provide advanced level training in SISS theory and methods and their applications in research. Instruction will be by some of the leading researchers in SISS from across a number of disciplines in the social and behavioural sciences in Australia, with postdoctoral research fellows acting as tutors to work intensively with the RHD students.

The Centre of Full Employment and Equity (CofFEE) will once again host the ARCRNSISS Methods, Tools and
Technologies workshop in Newcastle, NSW at Noahs on the Beach, 10th - 11th December 2009. Bill Mitchell
and Scott Baum, the joint convenors of the MTT Forum invite all Network members and their students to
participate.
Call for Papers is now open
This workshop will provide scope for the researchers in spatial analysis to demonstrate their approaches
and techniques across all the disciplines represented in the Network. We are calling for papers at any level of
analysis although a preference would be that the presentations are accessible to all researchers who might
participate. Researchers might present:
Innovative technical approaches to spatial analysis with specific applications;
Use of software in spatial analysis;
Applied spatial studies in any discipline.
